X-Lite Soft Phone 3.0

If you would prefer to use X-Lite with your SIP account, you can use the instructions and images below to help you setup your SIP account with X-Lite. X-Lite, the free version of EyeBeam, does not include the g.729 codec, so calls will be made using g.711. Please be aware that with g.711, your calls will consume 64kbps. With g.729 calls consume around 32kbps. EyeBeam is an upgraded version of X-Lite, which includes the g.729 codec.

This configuration guide is to assist with the setup of the old version of x-lite. We have left it here for your convenience in case you have the old version and still want to set it up with us. If you would like to download and install X-lite 4.0, please see our configuration guide here.

  • Open X-Lite SIP Account Settings menu (right click)

 

  • Click 'Add' to add your SIP account and configure your SIP account settings like the image, replacing your username and password where applicable

 

  • If your account has voicemail access, you can configure your voicemail shorcut key.

 

  • Use our STUN server to assist with firewall and NAT problems.

 

  • Configure your Presence mode as Peer-ro-Peer

 

  • You can save your new SIP account by clicking on OK and then click on Close.

  • Finally click on options and then advanced at the bottom left.

 

  • Click 'Audio Codecs' and configure the enabled audio codecs like the image below.

 

  • Once you have saved your settings, you will be logged into your SIP account (registered). You should run the Echo Test by dialling *52.

 

  • When the Echo Test starts, you will see 'Call established' and the duration of the call.
